Le blanc cabo9/19/2023 You can find where everything is and it feels like home. No hot tub in room but instead a soaking tub ( I would have preferred a smaller jetted tub) Overall, we will have to see what the renovations at Cancun entailed but it is overall more intimate. In betweens: Spa has a common area of hot tub and pool. Difficulty in getting specialty drinks from each restaurant around resort. lounge bar couldn't even make the drinks on the menu. Could barely hear the ocean from our room. The breakfast and lunch buffets at International were not what I would expect for a 5 star resort. our ceiling fan stopped working after 3 days (but they fixed it immediately). Our fire alarm went off for 30 seconds or so 2 of the nights for no apparent reason. Rowdy groups of people, loud and obnoxious even in the spa. Pool music was pop music rather than new age/electronic trip hop/relaxation. Loud music blaring from wedding receptions and the Mariachi Band next door until 10 pm that could be heard in your room. Cabos cons: Most dinners were mediocre at best compared to Cancun, much of the service at restaurants was mediocre compared to Cancun, The hotel was at about 30-40% capacity the time we were there but still problems. Our friends did a ATV trip to the Pacific side. We watched a turtle laying eggs while eating breakfast one morning. Not as humid and less rain (December comparison). Cabos pros: Bed was amazing as well as the sheets, balcony, no steps in Honeymoon suite, double sinks in bathroom, more restaurants (the Lebanese and Ocean were excellent), some excellent staff including Karla (concierge), Enrique (booking spa and trips), Georgio (pool manager) Alexandra (butler) and several of the serving staff especially at Ocean and Mezza. It feels more like a Moon Palace/Leblanc combo than Cancun LeBlanc. It has multiple floors plus nooks and crannies making it difficult to find everything even after a week remembering where everything is. Cabos has 30 % more rooms but appears about 50% bigger. I would guess about 10 % of the staff we talked to were from Cancun there on 3 month rotations. Most we talked to to had been there 2 months or less. Cabos has a limited pool of employees to choose from and I am sure that will change over time. One reason i feel the comparison is unfair is that Cancun has 5 resorts and 30 years of services industry to employ staff from and many of their staff have been there for many years. We are a couple who just wants to "unplug" for a week every year. First of all I would like to say we had a pleasant time in Cabos. I wouldn't normally compare two resorts but the fact that they named the Los Cabos resort Le Blanc leads to comparisons.
